Fun Day Happenings!
There was a great turn-out of athletes for the inaugural Fun Day from skills athletes up to A Team players.
The fun started with a game of musical statues, made more difficult by having to dribble a basketball while moving around! Despite that, it took quite a time to have a last lady and man standing! The fun didn't stop there though. Following on was a game of Ship to Shore, Teams of athletes passing a basketball over their heads to the person behind and a game of Cups and Saucers, all hotly contested with lots of laughter. Of course, pictures tell the story much better.

After all that action, a much needed rest was in order! Then the big surprise of the day, an Ice-cream Van arrived which was a big hit with all the athletes.

When all the ice-creams were consumed Michael Westbrook and Peter (both members of Killester Basketball Club) arrived and Michael led the athletes in a snake game which was followed by a men's match and then a ladies match in which both Michael and Peter took part.

The next surprise of the day was when Tony the Tiger arrived, a great favourite of all the athletes. Certificates of Participation were handed out by Michael and Peter.
All-in-all it was a great day which all the athletes enjoyed.
Many thanks to the committee, coaches, volunteers and Michael and Peter for making the day so enjoyable for the athletes.
