After some dancing, the business of the day began. Skills athletes demonstrated their dribbling, passing and shooting prowess while the 3-on-3 teams, coached by our senior athletes, played matches.

A combined Killester squad of Mens A, B and Ladies athletes then played a series of short demonstration matches against our visitors and the Killester Jamboree athletes.

On Saturday, 12th May the annual Jamboree was held in the IWA where Killester Special Olympics hosted Sports club 15, Leixlip and Blue Dolphins.

The day started with the parade of teams, cheered on by the volunteers, and then the reading of the Athletes Oath by Daniel.
When all competition was completed, and after a short break with some music and dancing, it was time for the medal ceremony with Garda Sharon presented medals to the participating athletes and their coaches, ably helped by Tony the Tiger, a favourite among the athletes.
Some pictures to give a flavour of the day and the fun and enjoyment.

Also a special thanks to the coaches for making this special day possible and mentions too for Jordan who made sure all the 3-on-3 games ran smoothly, for Hugh for his announcing skills, and for Tony the Tiger for making the athletes' day that bit more special!
The organising committee are yet again indebted to those who provide their time and energy on the day to make it such a success. To the staff at the IWA, the volunteers, the referee and officials,  Garda Sharon, the Order of Malta.  A massive THANK YOU from us to you, we really couldn't run the day without your help and assistance.
